The Student Employment Advisor helps students find part-time jobs while they are attending school. Many employers work directly with The Art Institute to find dependable part-time employees with stable class schedules. All students have access to the job boards, which post current part-time openings. The Student Employment Advisor works in partnership with students to determine which of these openings would best fit their needs, in addition to advising on other appropriate part-time opportunities for students to pursue on their own.
Career Services also hosts a part-time job fair each quarter and hiring managers from a wide variety of employers come to recruit new students. Many companies, such as Starbucks and United Postal Service, recruit on-campus throughout the school year.
Freelance Opportunities
Career Advisors work to match qualified students with paid freelance opportunities at local companies when available. These opportunities give students real world experience with the business side of their art and some professional pieces to include in their portfolios. Students must complete half of their program at The Art Institute of Seattle and meet minimum G.P.A. requirements to be eligible.
Internships
Internships at local companies are another great way for students to gain professional experience while completing their studies at The Art Institute of Seattle. Internships are coordinated through the Education Department and must meet the guidelines for eligibility for a credited program. Students should contact their department director for more details.
